Our fire pits are fantastic pieces of kit and they’re perfectly sized for almost any back garden.

 

Please be aware, as these are clearance items, there may be dents, surface scratches or other imperfections on these fire pits. If present, these are only aesthetic issues and will not affect the functionality of the fire pit. 

Fire Pits reduced to clear!

Sheds Direct Ireland is home to some fantastic fire pits and the best named Chiminea in Ireland (and I won’t hear otherwise).
You can sit around one of our three fantastic pits anytime of year, watch the stars above as you toast your marshmallow and listen to someone sing Wonderwall nearby. The music may not be what you want, but the fire pit is what you need. These pieces have been reduced to clear and are up to €130 off!

Clearance Details

Some of the firepits, most notably the Charlie Hotty, may be slightly dented or scuffed. This is an aesthetic imperfection; these will not affect the workinf of the firepit. These scratches etc are reflected in the heavilyt discounted prices. An example of some of the scratches can be seen below:

What Styles are available?

The Charlie Hotty Chiminea

The Charlie Hotty Fire Pit from Sheds Direct Ireland. It is matte-black in colour and it has 4 legs that raise up about 12 inches. The base of the fire fit sits on top. It is square in shape, with mesh wire the whole way around. On top of this, is a peaked roof where a square chimney sits.

The Charlie Hotty is 51cm (W) x 63.5cm (D) x 114cm (H). It has a large chimney to redirect the smoke up and away from you and your guest’s faces. It has a mesh covering around the body, allowing maximum air to get in, without anything inside falling out. It has an openable front door, allowing you to stoke the embers easily. The chimney’s covering prevents unwanted bits and pieces falling into the fire (like your dad flinging popcorn kernels into it or a clumsy cat).

The Zodiac 

The Zodiac Heater from Sheds Direct Ireland. It is a dome-shaped fire pit with a star design built into the top.

This dome-shaped fire pit has stars other planetary designs built into its grill casing cover. It casts beautifully interesting shadows while giving you a bit of protection too. This circular piece is particularly great for entertaining at, as everyone around it gets an equal share of the glow. The four supporting legs click together offering some solid support to the raised bowl and a small opening in the centre of the piece allows for easy cleaning and air flow throughout the bowl when in use. 

The Zodiac is the most popular fire pit that we sell currently.

The Inferno 

The Inferno firepits against a white background. It is a black, hexagonal firepit with wide mesh sides and thin mesh top pieces. There is a sold, heavy-looking base too. It reads 'the inferno' in flame-styled writing on the image too.

The Inferno Fire it is hexagonal in shape, i.e. it has 6 sides. It has a thin base that opens into a larger body. The base of the unit is surrounded by a hatched covering, with a further mesh lining inside to prevent anything falling out (or anyone sticking their hand in!)

On top sits a hexagonal mesh guard which keeps everything inside and allows you to safely manage your fire. It can be removed to allow you to toast at it and put back into position when needed. The body can be easily transported and cleaned, but it’s not so light to pose a problem when in use.

Delivery Time

Delivery of our fire pits takes on average 3-4 working days. During peak season (i.e. Christmas) or during times where demand for a courier is high, this may be increased by a day or two.

You can also collect your fire pit or chiminea from the Sheds Direct Ireland showroom in Finglas. You can see our opening hours on the bottom of the page or on Google Maps.

 

Assembly

There is a small amount of assembly required on all of these fire pits. The instructions are included, but for the most part, they’re fairly self explanatory. You should expect to have your fire pit fully assembled in about 20-30 minutes.

FAQs

What is a fire pit?

A fire pit is basically a camp-fire for your garden. They’re generally made of metal and often they’re raised off the ground for comfort and for practical use; e.g. grilling your bread or toasting marshmallows on. Once they’re kept a safe distance from your house, away from flammable materials, including trees and bushes, they’re an ideal addition to any garden.

 

What do I put in them?

We only recommend that only kiln dried wood is used in your fire pit. While other items can be used, they may create more debris or burn less effectively. Kiln dried wood has less moisture in it, so it lights easier. It also has the additional benefit of being less ‘smokey’ than other woods, so you shouldn’t have red-eyes sitting around it for long durations!

 

How do I start them?

There is a range of fire-starters available on the market. For a simple starting option, you can add on an Electrical Lighter when you are purchasing. This will allow you to quickly and safely start your fire pit. Here is a little gif of the electric lighter starting one of our wick heaters.

Are Fire Pits just BBQs?

Yes and no.

I mean, it’s a pit that you can start a fire in. You can put anything in it once it’s supported and it’ll grill away, but some fire pits aren’t designed to make grilling as easy as the others. If you know what you’re doing you could technically use it as a BBQ, but we’d recommend that you don’t, but that’s moreso because of the mess that you’ll make without the right parts!

 

Will they rust?

Unless covered and properly maintained, fire pits will ‘platina’ and have visible surface-level rust on them. As these units can be easily covered or easily moved, we recommend that keep them out of the rain and other adverse weather where possible.

 

How do I protect the grass from a fire pit?

If you’re thinking of putting your fire pit directly onto the grass, you should be aware that it can scorch or burn from the heat of the fire pit. The two most popular solutions to this issue is

 

Why are they so popular?

It should be no surprise to any reader to learn that Ireland is cold. Even during the Summer months, evenings can bring a chill to your spine quicker than Freddie Kruger doing stretches in your front garden. So adding a Fire pit to your garden allows you to have some outdoors time without catching frostbite. They can turn a day’s sunbathing into an evening under the stars, or they can even make the outside that bit more bearable as the night’s begin to draw in during the Winter months.

Are they legal?

Provided that they is used as intended, they is perfectly legal to use. The burning of household waste is illegal however – and with good reason. The burning of plastics or even pressure-treated woods can release toxic chemicals into the air, which can be fatal. If you don’t plan on burning your rubbish in your fire pit, you’ve nothing to worry about.

You can choose to add a fire mat to any of our heaters. Two sizes are available.

CAUTION

Fire Pits can be hazardous if used incorrectly. Do not overload these units, or fill with dangerous items. Dangerous items to burn include (but are not limited to)

  • Treated Wood (the chemicals released can be toxic)
  • Rubbish (it’s illegal, but the plastic burned can be toxic also)
  • Lighter fluid, Kerosene, Gasoline etc.
  • Grasses, Plants etc (burning grass can trigger hay fever episode and burning poison ivy for example can be extremely dangerous)

They can be the cause of fires if not properly monitored or maintained. Please use these items accordingly.
