How to use the Shed Base
A 10ft x 6ft assembled on the Shed Base
- Measure out your base
- Put down a damp proof membrane in the area and cover with a small amount of gravel or sand (to level the ground)
- Place Shed Base onto this layer of gravel / sand
- Fill Shed Base with pea gravel or concrete
- Smooth out the surface so that there is nothing protruding out and also make sure that all holes are suitably filled in.
- Place shed on top of this!
- Tell everyone at all future social occasions about how you, yes you, built a base for your garden shed.
What is NOT included
This produce includes only the Shed Bases. It does not include
- The Damp Proof Membrane
- The Sand
- The Pea Gravel / Cement
- Any tools
- The handsome divils in the pictures

The Shed Base from Sheds Direct Ireland
Shed Bases; If you know nothing else from reading our blog, you should know that all Steel Sheds require a solid, level base. It’s frankly bananas how many people think you can just plonk a steel shed onto bockety grass and expect it to be fine. Steel sheds built on uneven, incomplete surfaces will suffer from damp, warping, cracking or leaks. Don’t come at me, telling me that your uncle built the Joe Dolan Memorial bridge and that he said that you don’t need one – you do need a solid level base.
Normally, Steel Sheds would be expected to be built on something like a concrete base, tarmac, hardcore stone etc. This will remove the chance of almost all of the above problems, however they’re labour-intensive, costly and time consuming to sort out. If you need your shed up quickly, they can set you back up to a week. Thankfully, we’ve a simpler solution – the Shed Base.

A super simple solution
The Shed Base from Sheds Direct Ireland couldn’t be simpler. If you’ve ever played with Lego you’re now already over-qualified to make your base for your steel shed. The base can be laid onto any level ground and with minimal effort, meaning that you’re already half-way there to having a new shed in place.
