The Benefits of this particular Artificial Grass
We’ll talk about the general benefits of artificial grass later, but this isn’t like every other artificial grass.
This isn’t a cheap and throwaway product. Our grass is one of the best on the Irish market. You’ll see why below, but suffice to say that if you’re looking for a high density, incredible product that’ll last for years, you’ve found it.
Our thatch is one of the main selling points of this grass. These brown fibres that are woven through the grass do two main things
- It makes the grass look more natural
- It allows the fibres to keep standing upwards after it’s brushed by the installation team
This thatch gives the grass a richer, softer feel and a pleasing looking finish. It’s 40mm thick when brushed and sanded, making it one of the thickest on the market.
Your artificial grass has a longer warranty than the lifespan of the Beatles as a band, and you should go through about 4 mobile phones by the time it’s out of warranty. Not bad!

Other Artificial Grasses look great initially, but age poorly. Not Family Grass. Simply spread sand over your lawn, brush it through and it’ll look like new! You can do this after 2 years to revive it back to it’s initial appearance, but it can be revived several times using this method.

Check out examples of this product on our Naas Road Showroom – they’re in the wind-tunnel! Here’s some samples from the site to whet your appetite!

So you know why our grass is particularly good, but what about artificial grass in general? Well, there are no shortage of benefits for artificial grass, but if you’re looking to find out why it might suit you, read on:
Benefits of Artificial Grass (in general!)
Supply & Fit or delivered Supply Only!
We can offer this grass as part of an assembly service, or delivered ‘Supply Only’ directly to you. This allows those who want a seamless, professional service to get what they want – as well as giving those involved with landscaping as a business a professional option.
However, laying this product isn’t as simple as levelling out the ground and plonking it down. There’s a lot involved with it and if you don’t already know how to do it, you may be out of your depth. If you’re getting a third-party to do it for you, ask them how they’re planning on doing it. If it doesn’t sound like what’s outlined below, you may be dealing with the wrong people.

The base (it’s SUPER important)
We would rather that we come and supply and fit this artificial grass for you because as great as this artificial grass is (and it’s really great), it’s no use to anyone if the base is not properly prepared. For this product, you will need to:
- Dig out at least 4″ of ground, creating the edges as necessary
- Compact and level, making sure to remove any large rocks or other obstacles
- Spray weedkiller and apply a weed membrane; this will prevent weeds rising up into the grass
- Using 6mm tree-lined chip drainage (crushed stone), build up the hole, compacting it thoroughly several times
- Other companies will recommend or supply hardcore & grit. We don’t because this will eventually turn into, essentially, concrete when rainwater mixes with it. This will be liable to flooding.
- Add a later of sand or quarry dust and smooth to a finish
- Water this lightly to let the whole base settle before beginning to lay your base
Other important notes:
- You cannot lay fake grass on top of existing real grass, topsoil, uneven ground or unprepared ground. If in any doubt, contact us and we’ll answer your question.
- Digging down at least 4″ is absolutely necessary.
- We’ve used the terms Artificial Grass, Astro-Turf, Synthetic Grass and more quite generally; we are aware that certain companies make distinctions between these classifications. You can see the technical details about our grass above, and you can get in touch should you have any questions before purchasing.
