About Us
Sheds Direct Ireland is home to Ireland’s most affordable, quality sheds and garden products. It’s a family-run company founded by the Father-and-Daughter team of Alan and Louise Dawson.
The company was established after Alan found it difficult and unnecessarily expensive to source a good quality shed on the island of Ireland. The pair took it upon themselves to fix this for the Irish market. Years later, the goal remains the same: source the most cost effective, high quality materials and provide them to our customers with a high level of care.
The Sheds Direct Ireland Head Office and beautiful showroom can be found on the Jamestown Road in Finglas and it is here you can see everything that we have to offer. Our sales team, web department and delivery teams are all based here too – so if you need a question answered, pop into us, or give us a call at 01 864 4247. Meet the Team
Alan Dawson – Founder
Our Founder & Part-time racing driver. Some ask “Is he the Stig?”, but we’ll never tell! Alan’s main responsibilities are picking and choosing new products for the business. He’s always floating around the showroom trying to tell you about all his trophies at home or dreaming up new ideas for sheds. Don’t be surprised to see him delivering a shed to your house, as he will do anything to get behind the wheel.
Louise Dawson – CEO
The woman who pays our wages. Louise looks after the day to day running of the business. There’s no better person to go to if you can’t remember an order or product from 3 years ago as she has a memory like no other. Her main duties are keeping Alan in check whenever they go to trade-shows and also keeping him away from the stockroom. Feel free to ask her about all things flatpacked as it’s a secret passion of hers.
Patrick Thorpe – CFO
Patrick joined the Sheds Direct Ireland team in late 2024 and he has been an incredible addition. He seems to exist of 40 minutes of sleep a night, cramming the rest of day with activities, making business plans and suggesting ideas to the Marketing Team. If this makes Patrick sound too good to be true, don’t worry, he has a major flaw: He’s an ardent supporter of Manchester United.
Suzanne Kavanagh – Chaos Coordinator
Suzanne joined the team in April 2025 and has fitted into the team like a glove. She’s there to make complex issues manageable but she still doesn’t understand the modh coinníollach!
Poonam Sharma – Sales coordinator
If it’s happening at Sheds Direct Ireland, chances are Poonam has her hands in it. Sales? Social Media? Marketing, events, CRM? Absolutely. She’s our all-in-one project powerhouse who keeps the wheels turning and the brand buzzing. But let’s not pretend it’s all polished perfection—Poonam is famously clumsy. At her very first company dinner, she accidentally spilled Thai curry all over the CEO’s trousers. We’ve all moved on. Mostly. Poonam brings equal parts energy, chaos, and charm to the Sheds Direct Ireland family.
Samantha – Sales Assistant
Samantha joined the sales team in March, 2022. Her main role is making sure that the customers have everything they need while shopping in our showroom. If you call our store with any questions, there’s a good chance you’ll have Samantha on the other end – just don’t ask her about slippers though, she may hang up.
Louise O’Hara – Sales Assistant
Louise, AKA ‘Young Louise’, is one of the newest members to the Sheds Direct ireland Team. Louise looks after the online orders and the in-store customers. She has gotten on great with the customers, and her infectious laugh has gone down well with customers and staff alike. We also like her because she always asks the staff if we want a
nice cup of tea.
Clare – Sales Assistant
Claire joined the Sheds Direct Ireland team in 2024, and quickly settled in. With her years of experience working with customers, she has become an excellent member of the team.
Aisling Cushen – Sales Assistant
Aisling is part of the Naas Road team and before joining the team, we all knew her from the North Dublin Cat Rescue. If you’re on the Naas Road site, you’ll more than likely be dealing with Aisling!
Glenn – Sales Assistant
Glenn has lots of positive reviews written about him on our Trustpilot and Google Maps pages. It’s not hard to see why. Otherwise, he’s big into 3D printing, pop culture and asking customers to leave 5-star reviews that mention him.
Sean Conroy – Marketing Manager
Sean joined the team in April 2019 and he set up the website as it exists today. He got the job because he had a beard and glasses and that’s all you need to be trusted with a website, these days.
Griffy the Giant Giraffe – Necky Mascot
“DE NECK OF YEEEWWW!”
Griffy is our Naas Road mascot. Visible on the N7, he’s here to welcome all shed shoppers and keep an eye on the traffic. He loves acacia leaves, wild apricots and solid, level bases.
‘Handy’ Andy – Warehouse Operative
If you’re collecting a flat-packed shed, more than likely, you’ll meet Andy. He’s very popular and very helpful – though he is a Liverpool fan. Can’t have it all, I suppose.
Gintaras – Warehouse Manager
Stronger than Thor and the Incredible Hulk combined, Gintaras looks after our warehouses. He’s incredibly good at Tetris, as a result. If you talk to him, he’ll tell you about the next holiday he has planned.
Karl – Delivery Driver / Animal Handler
Karl is the man in the van. He has an army of dogs at his disposal, as well as an owl, a pheasant and at least one sheep – and if you’re nice to him, he’ll bring you in chicken and duck eggs, too.
