Guaranteed Irish House Month: Support local with you new shed!
February is Guaranteed Irish House month. With that in mind, today we’re going to look at ways in which you can add to your garden shed while supporting local businesses and the local economy. Wooden Sheds
If you’ve opted for a non-pressure treated shed, you’ll need to paint or varnish it every year. - Hexagonal Wire (“chicken wire”): This is a great addition to a wooden shed. Generally, it’s preferred to leave one side exposed, to allow air to flow around and through. Chicken wire, when repeated over itself, can be a great way to keep rodents and other wildlife out from under your shed.
- Emergency lighting: With the recent Storm Eowyn wreaking havoc across the island, the headlamps, working lamps and tealights are a great addition to any shed.
- Stepping Stones A gorgeous addition to any shed, but especially a wooden one. Finish off the look by adding a stepping stone walkway to your garden shed.
A bit of a personal one here. If you’ve got say, the Potting Shed, and you’re out on a Sunday afternoon, preparing the garden for the Summer ahead, some audio accompaniment is always welcome. Whether it’s the Rugby on Radio 1, the football on Newstalk or even just some music on our beloved Radio Nova (where you’ll hear our ads all year long!), it’s a great way to while away the day. We’ve been champions of Kingspan for years. Our 2021 Blog Post “Insulating a steel shed” noted that Kingspan is “probably the most thorough way to get it done”. It still is.
