Our Charity Work

Supporting local charities is nothing new to us here at Sheds Direct Ireland.

We’ve previously supported Coolronan Dog Rescue by providing them with two sheds and just under €3,000 in funds. We helped the local Cat Rescue by providing them with Cat Kennels – and then rebuilding the whole cat enclosure from top to bottom. We’ve sponsored Children’s Books Ireland, helped out the local Meeting Place Club, we gave money to the Dogs Aid every time England scored in the Euros and, if nothing else, keeping me in employment, would be considered a very charitable act by anyone who knows me.

But, I hear you ask, what’s new?

Latest Charity Work

We’ve been pretty busy since the beginning on December and considering it’s not the end of January yet, that’s pretty good going! We’ve closed out some cases that need help and we’ve more in the works.

My Lovely Horse Rescue

On December 9th, My Lovely Horse Rescue posted on their Facebook page that their old barn had blown away and that they needed some help. They posted photos of their old feed room, now lying in pieces across the field, alongside the caption:

We desperately need a feed room in the field 💔 we don’t have the man power, time or skills to put this shed back together again and we can’t manage without it – we’re snookered!

Our Louise stepped in to help. Seeing that the old barn was damaged beyond repair, the only option was an entirely new shed. The Mammoth Shed made the most sense, (given that it had anti-condensation lining built into the walls), so she offered one of those, supplied and fitted. Now, this is great, but the shed is essentially useless unless it has a base to go onto. We got in touch with a local provider, Zim* who provided a concrete base for the shed to sit onto. The guys at My Lovely Horse were delighted. They were even more delighted when we threw in a new tipping cart (as the old one that they had was fairly battered).

You can see how thankful the team were when they visited our Naas Road showroom, here:

*Zim can build bases for sheds in and around the Dublin area. He is not an employee of Sheds Direct Ireland, but if you need a base in his catchment area, contact him at 086 458 3274.

Anything else?

Alright, calm down Ghandi! Yes, we do actually – but we’re not in a position to share at this time. We will update this post (or write a new one) when the time comes. Suffice to say we’re a shedload to give to charity this year.
