All Irish Christmas gift guide

All Irish Christmas Gift Guide 2024

We’re back for another festive Christmas Gift Guide! Last year, we looked at all the alternative things taht you could buy for every member of the family. This year, we’re highlighting a load of great Irish Brands that you can support. There are no shortage of amazing Irish companies out there offering all sorts of fantastic products, so we’ve picked a dozen or so Guaranteed Irish companies to feature. Without further ado, lets get going.

All prices and stock levels were correct at time of writing.

Under €20

These gifts will all cost a score or less (not including delivery).

Manhattan Popcorn Christmas Box

Manhattan Popcorn

We’re starting with something very close to our hearts. Figuratively and literally – their offices are only around the corner from us. Regardless of where they’re based, everyone loves Manhattan popcorn and for under a tenner, you can get 15 bags of popcorn in a lovely festive box. It’s a great stocking filler and something that will go down well in every Irish household.

Irish Prints

The name pretty much sums up what they do. The guys at She Designs, He Prints have a collection of fantastic prints to wrap your retinas around. See their range of prints, tea towels cards and lampshades for yourself!

BabyBoo Bibs

Babies are a feckin’ nightmare to buy for. They grow at mad speeds, they’re awful taste in music and they’ve no interest in Lynx Africa box sets. That said, the vast majority of these milk-gulpin’, chuckle monsters are terrible dribblers.  A good bib is a godsend and I can personally attest that these bibs are the best that we own. A pack of three festive-themed bibs will set you back €15 and they will be very appreciated in any baby-packed household.

Gaming Dice

Cheese Dice

Dungeons & Dragons was. thrown back into the spotlight when Stranger Things debuted in 2016, but it’s been going from strength-to-strength since. If you know an Barbarian, Paladin or Bard that needs a new set of dice, look no further than Dakota Irish and their Cheddar Dice. Cheesier than a dad joke, these are a perfect stocking filler for any proud nerd.

Under €50

Microbiome Booster

I spend most of my days looking at sheds, talking about sheds and taking photos of sheds. Suffice to say that my microbiome needs a boost. Or at least that’s what I’m told. I don’t know what my microbiome is. Anyway, some of the staff here swear by the Sásta Microbiome Booster Serum and they’ve told me to tell you that it’s a great gift for anyone with a face.

Christmas Candles

Christmas Candle

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: it’s scientifically proven that mam’s love candles. This one is is their Cinnamon & Winter Berries Jar. It’ll burn for 100 hours, it’s 100% plant wax and the jar is made from recycled glass.

The World’s Best Hairbrush

World's Best Hairbrush

Not my words (the top of my head looks like it was host to a family of pigeons), but the words of almost everyone that uses it. The Belle Brush looks elegant and fairly unassuming, but their reviews from customers worldwide are glowing. It’s been voted the RSVP best hairbrush for the past 4 years (including 2024) and it would make a great addition to anyone who has hairs’ stocking.

Socksciety Socks

As a middle-aged man, I’ve come to expect socks at Christmas. It’s as predictable as the Leaving Cert weather or your waiter asking how things are when you’ve taken a big mouthful. Last year, I got a haul of the Irish Socksciety socks and not only are they fun and bright, they’re also really comfy and they don’t wear out. So if you are getting that man if your life a set this Christmas, at least make them fun and great quality socks.

Sungí Madra Dog Jumpers

Yer dog can look as fashionable as Taylor Swift with a bespoke gansy this Christmas. Snugí Madra makes gorgeous pieces four your pooch and they facilitate leads or harnesses too.

Set of 6 Mystery Books

Santa reading a good book

Christmas is synonymous with tinsel, turkeys and lots and lots of books. Easily the best option we’ve seen this year is the Mystery Books option from Chapters Books. Not only are you supporting an independent book store, you’re also being given a lifeline here. If you don’t know what book to get someone, why not let the team at Chapters do it for you? They’ll pick 6 new books on a theme you choose (Biographies, Sports, YA, Sci Fi, etc. etc.) and get them out to you. Ideal.

Silent Night Baby Set

Settling baby with a bath is a great way to make bedtime that bit less stressful. An even better way is with the Silent Night Gift Set. The calming body wash, balms and soft flannels will ease your little one to sleep without hassle. Top Tip from someone who’s been through it, throw on Misty Mountains as your child is settling and they’ll be conked out in no time. Lookit that, a physical gift AND a tip to share to. I’m spoiling you now.

Main Present Ideas

These presents all cost considerably more than €50.

Necklaces & Chains

Despite being named EdgeOnly, this company has absolutely nothing to do with Bono’s mate or the former WWE champion who bear the moniker. Instead, here is where you’ll find some high quality, unisex chain necklaces. Despite being able to count the likes Michelle Visage, Charlize Theron, Iain Sterling and Aisling Bea amongst their customers, the prices for their pieces are very affordable. You’ll find some great pieces for under €150, but they’ve a whole host more of luxurious items if you want to go all out.

See the EdgeOnly website to see everything that they stock.

Soft Irish Leather overnight Bag

If you know someone who travels light, this is ideal. They can travel in style with this durable, soft leather bag that’s available in three colours. Find it at Tinnakeenly Leathers.

A Family Portrait

Any family that has had a professional portrait taken, hangs it on the wall for decades to come. They’re a great way to give a moment in time a place in your home. Barry & Margaret at Photogenic have been specialising in portraits in Dalkey since 1999. Check them out at Photogenic.ie

A Beehive!

A bee landing on some lavender

No, not the stylish doo, but rather the literal place to keep bees. If you’re looking for a quirky gift for the outdoorsy type of person this Christmas, a Beehive is definitely an option. It’s surprisingly affordable too. Check out Donegal Bees, and spend your money on honey!

One Dame Lane Jewellery

Trendier than a denim tuxedo, the work of One Dame Lane is gorgeous. Highly detailed, hand-made and sustainable, ODL are passionate about slow fashion. Their pieces are designed to last, both literally and through their timeless design. Check out their Sara Sousa partnership, which I’m assured is “beyond gorgeous”.
